The Challenge
The 777 Project was a philanthropic initiative where Joel Runyon ran 7 ultra marathons on 7 continents to raise money and awareness to build 7 schools with Pencils of Promise.
The project combined extreme physical challenge with global impact—proving what's possible when you push your limits for a cause bigger than yourself.
The Journey
Each race presented unique challenges—from the frozen landscapes of Antarctica to the scorching heat of the African savanna. Every finish line represented another step toward the goal of building schools for children who need them most.

The project was entirely self-funded, meaning 100% of donations went directly to Pencils of Promise.
The 7 Schools
More importantly, the project inspired thousands of people to take on their own impossible challenges and use their abilities to create positive change in the world.
